John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk-pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado. He later settled in Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states the fact that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its initial member in the year 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for many people across the globe. When I travel, I always meet someone from the other part of the globe, or someone who is from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes they say is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had originally written the tune to Johnny Cash's tune in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard the earlier versions that it would be a big success. The song was performed in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer released the song a couple of days afterward.
